I feed myself by working towards my goals. I find the quick dopamine hit from fleeting things to not be as rewarding or ease inducing as large delayed gratification things. That’s my ultimate. But yoga, reading, writing, my husband’s cooking, and a trip to somewhere beautiful are up there too.

This read reminded me how thankful I am that I actually enjoy ”the little things” from food, conversations, clear waters, getting lost in a book etc. They all make life so much more worth it. I hope that we all can continue to be so intentional when it comes to enjoying life. Loved this read ❤️

A beautiful read and, honestly, we’re on the exact same page. Consumption done with purpose and intent really can lead you to feeling fulfilled. The point you made about enjoying the consumption of stories, of good character arcs and good plots resonated so deeply with me because I think it’s that same joy that leads me to even write on Substack. There’s something so... exhilarating about picking apart the media I interact with, something so filling about take slow bites of a good book, a good movie, a great album, and enjoying every single flavour of it.

I love the wordplay and your embrace of consumption! I have shamed myself endlessly for what I deemed a toxic relationship with overconsumption of everything, hadn’t realize I could embrace it. Now I seek to find balance and reject shame! The journey is ongoing staying tuned to more from you and coming into my own as well!

Oh this makes me incredibly happy!! Often times we over consume because we deny ourselves things when we first crave them. Don’t get me wrong there’s def benefits to delayed gratification but sometimes it’s okay to indulge and enjoy. So glad you’re working on balance.

I love this so much. Definitely a reminder to actually live life. It reminds of Audre Lorde. We definitely have to care for ourselves at the very least; instead of falling victim to capitalism in totality.

What a super refreshing read this was. I loved how you touched the surface of how important it is to “enjoy the little things”, especially since we all know it’s the little things that matter. Really looking forward to consuming some more of what’s to come.
