My love for you exists as a series
of zeros and ones tip toeing on stage
dancing dichotomy—emotive theories
let me tell you of my love and rage

In this binary ballet, I plié
forced to bend to the music of my heart
tired from this emotional relay
I bend more watch all my logic depart

There’s rhythm to this bitter love language
I hope you catch the beat as decimals
repeat. Can’t you feel the love? feel the rage?
no hiding truths in love confessionals

Listen, I have been trying to tell you
but you don’t speak binary. I am through.

I fell asleep putting my toddler down for the night so I didn’t get a chance to write a story... like any sane individual I decided to write a sonnet at 1am instead.
